Philippus Goudsmit

The oldest son of Philippus Goudsmit and Rosa de Hes emigrated to Palestina in 1939 and survived the war. A second son of the couple, Isaäc Nico Goudsmit, lived at the the Jewish youth farm opened for Palestine Pioneers in Gouda in 1937, the villa Catharinahoeve.

Abraham Philip Goudsmit is de tweede van negen kinderen uit het huwelijk van koopman Philip Arents Goudsmit en Rachel Bohemen. De ouders zijn uit Appingedam en Amsterdam afkomstig en trouwen in Groningen op 28 november 1850. Van de zes meisjes en drie jongens in het gezin komt alleen Aron jong te overlijden, in 1874, hij is dan twee jaar oud. De andere kinderen bereiken de volwassen leeftijd.
