About Jozef Levie, his 2nd wife Elisabeth Fortuin, the children Salomon and Margaretha Reina and about Siphora Henriette from his 1st marriage too.

Jozef Levie, a son of Salomon Gerson Levie and Siphora Polak, was born on 15 January 1875 in Smilde (Drenthe). He was a cigar maker, became a cigar manufacturer and in later years owned agencies. He married Bertha Blumenthal on 3 December 1905 in Groningen, who was born in Winschoten on 27 August 1871, the daughter of Selig Sandel Blumenthal and Henriette Polak.

Salomon Levie behoorde tot de zogenaamde Koselgroep. De deportatie-trein naar Auschwitz stopte (soms) kort op het station van Kosel, ca 80 km van Auschwitz.

On 16 October 1942, a deportation train left Westerbork for Auschwitz with a total of 1710 deportees. During a stop in Cosel, ±80 km west of Auschwitz, 570 "arbeitsfähige" (labor suitable) boys and men were forced to leave the train and were generally of the age group of ±15 to 50 years, in some individual cases something older.
