Wilhelm Kurz

Wilhelm Kurz came to the Netherlands in 1920 with the entire family. He went to the secondary Modern School (HBS) in Rotterdam. Later he moved to Eindhoven where he started working for Philips. During the war he was brought to Vught with the Philips transport. From there he was deported to several camps.

De naam van Wilhelm Kurz komt voor op een monument van Nederlandse slachtoffers van het kamp Reichenbach (de ‘Sportschule’, een buitencommando van Gross Rosen) in het Eulengebirge in Silezië.

Chaskel Kurz wordt op 1 januari 1874 in Tarnow, toenmalig Duitsland maar nu Polen, geboren. In 1939 is vijfenveertig procent van de inwoners van deze stad joods.
