Alfred de Leeuw and Sophia Noach were married at Westerbork transit camp on 3 May 1943. Alfred, a butcher by trade, was a son of Julius de Leeuw (deceased) and of Adelheid Roozendaal. Sophia, a sales lady, was a daughter of the merchant Samuel Noach and of Bela Velleman, deceased.
Donald de Leeuw, a brother of the bridegroom, served as a witness at the wedding. He signed the marriage certificate.

Samuel Noach - the son of Abraham Salomons Noach and Sophia Berg - was married twice. His first spouse was Belia Velleman (1877-1927). With her, Samuel had three children: Sophia, Abraham and a child that survived the war. After Belia passed away, Samuel married Betje van Gelder, on January 11th 1928.
