Sally Dormits werd bij een arrestatiepoging door een hond gebeten en moest zijn fiets achterlaten. Via het framenummer werd de winkel gevonden waar de fiets was gekocht. De winkelier gaf de recherche de naam van Dormits door, die hem vervolgens alsnog kon arresteren.

Samuel 'Sally' Zacharias Dormits komt voor op de erelijst van de CPN. Deze werd na de oorlog samengesteld voor een gedenkboek. Helaas is dat boek er nooit gekomen, maar de documenten op basis waarvan hij op de lijst is terechtgekomen bevinden zich in het archief van de CPN op het IISG (inventarisnummer 144).
