Jacob Wolff was a son of Theodor Wolff and Johanna Lion. He married Bet Schlosser in 1896 in Den Ham. They had at least three children.
According to tradition he lived in a small house in Den Ham. His granddaughter lived in the Jewish orphanage in Leiden, where he visited her a couple of times. During one of these occasions he gave her a handbag. He always spoke Yiddish.
