Naatje van Thijn was married to David van de Kar.He lived at the A.C.Wertheimhuis, a Jewish psychiatric institution for male patients. Together the couple had six children. Two of them died when they were very young. One son, Joseph married in 1928. His father, David, was a son of Joseph van de Kar and Sara Ossedrijver. Joseph van de Kar died in 1933.
