String band Borne about 1920. In front sitting on a chair Anna Rosa van Gelder, ± 11 years old, the daughter of the bass player standing in the back, David van Gelder and Mathilde Bamberger. The violist, standing on the right in the photo is David's brother Aron (Nun) van Gelder. All other persons of the band are unknown.

This is the Van Gelder's Jazzband named “De Gaiety Hoppers”. From left to the right son Iwan van Gelder (who survived the Holocaust), father Aron van Gelder “the Nun”, an unknown pianist, son Alfred van Gelder and son Frits van Gelder. In the twenties or thirties they lived in Borne. Photo made about 1925.
