Alfred Ermann owned a chemical factory located at the Kalkturmstrasse in Wittlich, Germany. His shoepolish and polishing wax were kwown throughout Europe. Because of 'arianising'-laws, Alfred Ermann was forced to hand over his factory to two party-members in 1936. Shortly afterwards he fled with his family to the Netherlands. In 1939 he lived in Arnhem.
