Uit de dagrapporten van de Arnhemse politie blijkt dat Philip Jacob Jakop op 8 oktober 1942 in opdracht van de Sicherheitspolizei werd aangehouden op zijn woonadres (zie afbeelding). Ruim twee weken later kwam hij om in Auschwitz. Wat de reden was dat de Sicherheitspolizei speciaal voor de arrestatie van Jakop opdracht gaf wordt uit de dagrapporten niet duidelijk.
