Israel Levisson was the son of Moses Lewij Levisson and Saartje Helmstadt. Israel married in 1902 to Frederika Hilfman, daughter of Eizor Treitel Monassorvitsch Hilfman and Geertruida Breslauer.

Manuel en zijn vrouw Sara Levisson komen op 29-9-1943 aan in Westerbork (in woonbarak 68). Op 8-2-1944 worden ze op transport gesteld. Sara wordt direct bij aankomst vermoord. Manuel, die volgens zijn kaart langdurig verpleegd werd in Zonnestraal komt ergens in Midden Europa om op 30-6-1944.
