Hendrika van de Kar was a daughter of Gompert van de Kar and Rachel Tas. She married 11 October 1933 in Amsterdam to Louis Frank, a son of Hartog Frank and Grietje van de Kar. The couple had two daughters, Rachel and Gretha.
Hendrika had another younger sister Sara but she too has been killed during the Holocaust.
