Volgens de gegevens van de school was zij “een doofstomme patiënte van dr. Roozendaal”.

Freddie kwam uit een gezin van 5 kinderen: 4 meisjes en 1 jongen. De jongen studeerde voor arts. Het jongste meisje (Freddy) was "doofstom". Zij zou tot de leeftijd van 1 ½ jaar gehoord hebben.
