Esther zou mijn grootmoeder geweest zijn. Mijn moeder Sara Rijne leek veel op deze vrouw. Mijn moeder vertelde vele verhalen over haar en haar man Isaac Rijne de koosjere bakker bij Theeboom. Men was thuis redelijk traditioneel joods en vierde vaak sjabbat en de joodse feestdagen. Mijn moeder miste beide ouders en praatte veel over hun.
