Moordes de Vries was a cloth vendor on the street market. In 1941 he suffered from nervous attacks, due to the increasing difficult life for the Jews. When restorative medication would not produce any result, his g.p. (medical doctor) advised to be hospitalized in the Apeldoornsche Bosch in early 1942.
