Sophie Joosten was a daughter of Michel Joosten. Before the war she was the student of great pianists in Paris. During the war she went into hiding there.

Sophie Joosten, geb. 06.07.1905 te Groningen, is op 11.02.1943 met transport no. 47 vanuit het Franse doorgangskamp Drancy naar Auschwitz gedeporteerd.

Haar laatste adres in Frankrijk was:
28, rue de l’Arc de Triomphe in het 17e arrondissement in Parijs.

Als beroep gaf zij op pianiste te zijn.
