Jacob Elzas

Jacob Elzas was a son of Alfred Elzas and Selina Lopes de Leao Laguna, born in Amsterdam on 23 May 1923. He was unmarried and lived with his parents at Scheldestraat 106 3^rd stock in Amsterdam.

At some point in early 1942, Jacob Elzas was called up and put to work in one of the Jewish Labor camps in the East and North of the Netherlands, but it is not known where he ended up. When all labour camps…

Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk.The Jokos file reveals that a claim was lodged for compensation for valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claim, number 3044/6570).

The Hannover-Mühlenberg concentration camp was built in early February 1945 (as a satellite camp of the Neuengamme concentration camp) in Hannover, near the Oberricklingen district. The SS managed the camp for to months until the evacuation on 6 April 1945. Alternative names for this camp were “Camp Hanau”, Camp Hano(mag)” or “Hannover-Linden.”
