Salomon Schaap was a son of Gompel Wolf Schaap and Hendrina Walvisch. He married 5 January 1910 in Amsterdam to Rika Vischschraper, a daughter of Leendert Vischschraper and Debora Logger.
Salomon Schaap had six other brothers: Wolf, Abraham, Jonas, Joseph, Mozes and Hartog who also have been killed during the Holocaust. His only sister has survived the war.
