Manfred Dobrzyner

Johanna-Ruth Dobschiner (oorspronkelijk Dobrzyner?) woonde in het begin van de oorlog op Nwe. Herengracht 107 II. Haar familie is opgepakt en vermoord maar zij was ondergedoken en heeft de oorlog overleefd. Na de oorlog is zij naar Schotland verhuisd waar zij - inmiddels Christen geworden - een boek over haar ervaringen schreef: 'Selected to Live'.

On 22 and 23 Febuary 1941, raids took place in Amsterdam,  in which 390 Jewish men were arrested and deported. Only two of them survived. A recent investigation has shown that more than 100 men were gassed in Hartheim Castle, while Mauthausen was established as the official place of death.
