Meijer Overste

Na zijn schooltijd stond Meijer (‘Max’) Overste net als zijn vader op de markt. Hij bokste en beoefende in de vereniging Kracht door Oefening de krachtsport, liefhebberijen die hij deelde met zijn vader. In 1935 trouwde Max met de niet joodse Jeanne Overkleeft. Ze kregen drie kinderen. Bij de razzia van februari 1941 in Amsterdam werd Max weggehaald uit de woning van zijn ouders, waar hij toevalli…
