Carry Hekster lived with her grandparents, Jacob Hekster en Kaatje Hekster-van Loggem. Her parents were divorced, and her mother got married to Louis Sacksioni. Carry had a brother Sylvian Hekster, who lived with the family of Louis Sacksioni. Their mother and a child from the second marriage survived the war.
