Joseph Dingsdag was a son of Levie Dingsdag and Mietje Theemboom and he was born on 14 October 1905. He was employed as clothes presser; he married in Amsterdam on 18 March 1931 Sientje van West, who was born on 9 January 1906 as a daughter of Jacob van West and Betje Schaap. Joseph and Sientje had one son together, Levie, who was born in Amsterdam on 5 October 1933.
