Juda is een zoon van Hijman Metzelaar (A'dam, 4 mei 1847) en Helena de Paauw (A'dam, 11 januari 1846). Hij trouwde 12 augustus 1908 met Marianne Halberstadt (A'dam, 18 augustus 1883).
