De koopman Anthonie Cohen (1850-1937) vestigde zich in 1880 samen met zijn vrouw Sophia Polak (1850-1929) in Markelo. Zij woonden aanvankelijk in één van de Lonink-huizen (pand 46), maar kochten in 1913 het vroegere boerderijtje van Hollenberg (pand 89). Zoon Levy trouwde met Flora Denneboom uit Avereest en trok bij zijn ouders in. Anthonie, ook wel 'Nöttentone' genoemd, was handelaar in beenderen…
