Aaltje Lootsteen was a daughter of Mozes Lootsteen and Katje Jas. She married 4 August 1915 in Amsterdam to Mozes Canes, a son of Joseph Canes and Klaartje Viskoper.
She was born in a family with in total nine children: she self, Esther, Mietje, Abraham, Sander and Betje.
