Lea de la Bella-Morpurgo

Lea Morpurgo was a daughter of Israel Morpurgo and Abigaël de Miranda.

Samuel is een zoon van Joseph de la Bella (A'dam, 16 december 1858) en Rachel Cassuto. Hij trouwde 15 juni 1922 met Lea Morpurgo (A'dam, 16 juni 1898).

In addition, a Jokos file (number 2712) on this family is at the Amsterdam Municipal Archive. Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk.The Jokos file reveals that a claim was lodged for compensation for valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claim, number 673/10445).

Samuël de la Bella did not die in Seibersdorf in Poland. For Samuël to have died in Seibersdorf, he would have had to disembark the train when it stopped at Cosel. However, at 50 years-old, Samuël was on the age cut-off (which the SS arbitrarily set at 50 or 55, depending on the transport). Samuël stayed on the train with his wife and two children rather than disembarking at Cosel.
