Het gezin van Louis Jacob van Dam en Maria van der Stam verhuisde regelmatig. Bij het bombardement op Rotterdam woonde de familie in Rotterdam, in de Bokelstraat 10 (op de plek waar de huidige Heer Bokelweg loopt). De straat werd volledig weggevaagd bij het bombardement, hierbij kwamen twee van hun kinderen om: Jacob Louis (Groningen, 29 oktober 1935) en Regine (Rotterdam, 25 mei 1939).
Victims of february-raids gassed in Hartheim Castle.
On 22 and 23 Febuary 1941, raids took place in Amsterdam, in which 390 Jewish men were arrested and deported. Only two of them survived. A recent investigation has shown that more than 100 men were gassed in Hartheim Castle, while Mauthausen was established as the official place of death.
