Abraham Pinto joined the Hollandia-Kattenburg textile factory in Amsterdam on 17 January 1938. On Wednesday, 11 November 1942, around 4:30 PM, Willy Lages conducted the Sicherheitspolizei raid on the Hollandia factories. Josua Pinto was first married to Esther van Zanten. The couple had seven children, of whom two died at a young age. After Esther van Zanten had passed away, Josua Pinto married once again. From this marriage three children were born. The second wife survived the war.
