Asser Polak had been put to work in the Moerdijk camp from Vught. his wife, Johanna Marlina Polak-Noach and his children Frederika Polak and Lion Abraham Polak were deported from Vught to Westerbork on 3 April 1943. On 22 April 1943, Asser Polak asked for permission to rejoin his wife and children.
