Levie van Geens

Levie van Geens was a son of Jonas van Geens and Margaretha Halberstadt. He married in Rotterdam on 29 March 1911 to Judith Hart. The couple had 10 children, of which 463589 lived not at home anymore but at another address.

In 1883 trouwde Margaretha Halberstadt in Amsterdam met Jonas van Geens, die zelf uit Meppel kwam. Hij was een zoon van Hartog Elias van Geens en Vrouwtje Abraham Stibbe. Jonas begon als borstelmaker, ook wel schuijermaker genoemd. Daarna ontwikkelde hij zich door tot koopman in klederen. Een maand na hun huwelijk werd hun dochter Vrouwtje geboren, waarna Levie, Hartog, Betje en Sara in Amsterdam …
