Annemarie and Elfriede came to the Netherlands with a Kindertransport on March 30th, 1939. After a two week stay in the quarantine facility in Rotterdam they went to the facility for Catholic children in Eersel. From there they went to Koningsbosch in Echt in November 1939.
Their parents were Magda (born November 20th, 1998 in Münich) and Bernhard (born around 1898): both of them perished.

Bernhardt took part of WWI as a Vice-Feldwebel and as Aspirant-Officer. Later he became the director of Felma, a factory in electro-mechanical apparatus, first in the Nymphenburgerstrasse 125, afterwards on the Briennerstrasse 31/32. De twee zussen Annemarie en Elfrieda Goldschmidt waren na de Kristallnacht uit Duitsland gevlucht. Eind 1939 vonden ze onderdak in het klooster van de Liefdezusters van het Kostbaar Bloed in Koningsbosch. In augustus 1942 werden ze van daaruit, samen met 33 andere personen, gedeporteerd. Via onder meer Roermond en Westerbork werden ze naar Auschwitz gebracht, waar ze een maand later werden vermoor…
