Bernard van Gich was the son of Isador van Gich and Mietje ossedrijver.
In 1941 Bernard van Gich had to report at one of the Jewish labour camps in the Netherlands. He decided to flee to France, together with his wife. There he was arrested and deported to Buchenwald through the Compiègne transit camp. His wife survived the war.
