Jacob van Loggem was a son of Jonas van Loggem and Saartje Walg. He was married in Amsterdam Watergraafsmeer on 6 April 1932 to a non-Jewish woman and had two children. During the war he took part in the resistance. After he was arrested, he ended up in the Kommando Allach, near Dachau. There he died in May 1945.
