Op 2 augustus 1940 schreef Julius Spier een briefje naar de uitgever Johan van Tricht in Arnhem. Als adres gaf hij op Capittenweg 36 in Blaricum op. "Ich bleibe nach etwas bis zum 10 her" (Ik blijf hier tot rond de 10e augustus) liet Spier de uitgever weten.
