Simon Stad was a son of Isaac Joel Stad and Marianne Stad-Scheffer. He married in Amsterdam on 10 February 1926 to Roosje Groenteman, a daughter of Jacob Groenteman and Hanna Haamerslag.
The Stad-couple had two daughters, Marianna and Henny, who has survived the Holocaust.
