Otto Grünthal

Otto Grünthal was a son of Oygen and Lina Grünthal. He had three brothers.

Otto lived with his wife and stepchildren at Jenaer Str. 5 in Berlin-Wilmersdorf before they emigrated to Holland in 1936. The family was in hiding in Venlo when Otto and his stepson Walter Rosenthal were arrested by the German SD and shot on November 1st, 1944.

His wife Martha and daughter Ingeborg survived and emigrated from Sweden to California, USA in 1947.

Otto Grünthal and his stephson Walter Rosenthal fled from Germany to the Netherlands. They settled in Venlo. In 1942 they went into hiding in the nearby village Hout-Blerick. On 1 November 1944 the were arrested. Still the same they, they were shot dead by two members of the SS.
