Dick Kattenburg

Dick Kattenburg was a composer. Until recently, there were only a few known pieces composed by him. A relative recently found a number of boxes of handwritten compositions. These pieces have since been performed by the Leo Smit Stichting Ensemble and others.

In addition, a Jokos file (number 551) on this family is at the Amsterdam Municipal Archive. Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk.The Jokos file reveals that a claim was lodged for compensation for valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claim, number 6203/412).

Uit de annotaties in het Dagboek (2016) van Max de Jong blijkt dat Tom Kattenburg (1922-1948) een jongere broer was van Dick Kattenburg. Tom Kattenburg kwam om het leven in Palestina.
