About Carolina van den Arend-Hijmans

Carolina Hijmans was the oldest daughter of Isaac Godschalk Hijmans and Eveline Rosette van Lissa. She was a teacher and when the war broke out widow of Maarten van den Arend. A request to get out of Westerbork because of her non-Jewish marriage failed, "because of a dissolved mixed marriage without any children which made it impossible to make a request".
