Amalia Weinberg was a daughter of Salomon Weinberg and Sophie Buechler. The family lived in Neustadt-Goedens, near Wilhelmshafen in Ost-Frieland (Germany). Her sisiter was married to David Wolff living in Meppel. This brother-in-law rented a room for her from the greengrocer in Meppel .
