Ernest Armand Lorjé was the son of Abraham Willem Lorjé and Rosalie Wolf. He was married to Deborah del Valle. They had three children. The family lived in Garderen. Abraham Willem en Rosalie Lorjé had three children, who resided at a different address. Their son Ernest Armand Lorjé was killed in Sobibor in 1943. The two other children survived the war.

Before the war the Lorjé family lived in Haarlem. There they had a bookstore. They sold the store before the German authorities good take it away. The sales price was a fraction of the actual value of the store.

Op 9 november 1942 werden Rosa Lorjé en haar echtgenoot Willem uit hun huis gehaald en opgesloten in de Plantage Schouwburg om via Westerbork naar het oosten te worden weggevoerd. Vanuit de schouwburg schreef Rosa haar kinderen:
