On 26 February 1814 King William I decreed that the Nederlands-Israëlitisch Seminarium (NIS) was to be established in Amsterdam to train rabbis, teachers and other officers serving the Jewish community.

Hans Badmann heeft in Tilburg ondergedoken gezeten in de Korenbloemstraat 137, in het huis van Jef van Bebber. Hij was daar met samen met zijn oom Fritz Roos (broer van zijn moeder), zijn tante Elisabeth Roos-Culp en neef Bernd en nicht Anita Roos.
