Israël van Zuiden was married. He was a shopkeeper selling ladies clothes with a business on the Varkensmarkt. He was arrested for wanting to remove the swastika from his shop door and he was sent to Amersfoort camp. After six weeks he was released in poor health, but after some time he was picked up again and returned to Amersfoort camp. He was killed there on 15 May 1942. Jules Frank, chairman of the Jewish Undertakers in Amersfoort, collected his remains from Amersfoort camp.
