Frederik Philips van Buren was a son of Mozes Philips van Buren and his first wife Elisabeth Spiro. His mother died in 1903, and his father remarried Cornelia Polak in 1905. Frederik Philips van Buren had another brother Max, one year younger than he, who has survived the Holocaust. From that 2nd marriage of his father, a half-brother was born in 1906, named Henri, who has been killed in Auschwitz on 12 August 1942.
Frederik Philips van Buren married on 15 September 1909 in Bochum (Germany) Nanny Herz who was born in that city. Together they had a daughter on 15 December 1910, named Elise. She married 1 May 1940 in Amsterdam Leon Fierlier and in 1941 a daughter Nanny was born. This family lived in with Elise's parents at Zandstraat 8 II in Amsterdam.
Frederik and his wife Nanny have been registered in transit camp Westerbork on 21 November 1942 and they were both deported to Auschwitz on 4 December 1942, and upon arrival therekilled immediately on 7 December 1942. From the Fierlier-Philips van Buren family, Leon has lost his life in Auschwitz on 30 September 1942 but his wife Elise and daughter Nanny were already killed there on 23 July 1942.
