Anna van Gelder, born in Borne, was a daughter of Benjamin van Gelder and Antje de Leeuw. She married 19 April 1928 in Hengelo Benjamin van Gelder, a son of Mozes van Gelder and Sophia Polak.
Afther their marriage Anna and her husband Benjamin went living in Almelo, where her husband had a shop in draperies and haberdasheries. They lived at Schalderoi 12. There the couple had three children, namely Mozes in 1929, Antje Sophia in 1931 and Sophia Agatha in 1935.
From this address, the family was arrested and brought to Westerbork where they had been registered between 3 and 5 October 1942. On 9 October they were all put on transport to Auschwitz. On arrival there, it is likely that Benjamin van Gelder was selected for work. His official date of death was established as 31 January 1943. Anna however and her three children were immediately killed on arrival in Auschwitz on 12 October 1942.
