Biography

Maurits van Thijn was a son of Lodewijk van Thijn and Betje van der Horst. He was born 4 May 1891 in Wageningen into a family of butchers. Maurits self was also a butcher by trade. On 20 November 1922 he married in Schoten (Haarlem) Hanna Keizer, a daugher of the butcher Lodewijk Keizer and Henderina van de Kaars.
