Sem Jacques Kloots was a son of Jacques Emanuel Kloots and Henriëtte Céleste Benjamins. Sem was a student at the First Montessorischool in Amsterdam.

Sem Jacques Kloots moved with his mother and sister Isabella (Bella) to Arnhem in 1939/1940. He went to the fifth class of the public school on the Cattepoelseweg. His father survived the war.

Jokos files (numbers 1222, 7304) on this household or other family members are at the Amsterdam Municipal Archive. Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk. The Jokos files reveal that a claim was lodged for compensation for valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claim, number 2065/19968).
