Eleazar Blei Weissmann

Eleazar Blei Weissman was unmarried. He was a Secondary School teacher in Political Sciences and also worked as a civil servant in the town clerk's office in The Hague. Under the pseudonym Eduard van Wijk, he co-operated on the illegal publication 'De Gids' and he was involved with the distribution of the publication 'Toekomst'. We have been unable to determine whether one or more members of this family survived the war. While their names do not appear on the lists of survivors, we have not been able to trace them in In Memoriam either. They are therefore labeled as 'surviving' and their names are not listed.

Eleazar Blei Weissmann werkte als leraar Staatswetenschappen.

Daarnaast was hij vanaf 15 maart 1939 als ambtenaar bij de Crisis- en Distributiedienst op de Gemeentesecretarie van Den Haag werkzaam. Op 1 maart 1941 is hij op last van de bezetter vanwege zijn joodse achtergrond ontslagen.  

Zijn naam staat vermeld op het gedenkteken voor omgekomen ambtenaren van de Gemeentesecretarie Den Haag.
