Jeanie Muriel Salomonson-Gestetner

The name of Jeanie Muriël Salomonson-Gestetner appears on a handwritten list of the individuals who held offices within the Dutch-Jewish Community in Haarlem during the early years of the war. Photos remain of all the staff members. Jeanie Muriël Salomonson-Gestetner was a sous-chef in the Dutch-Jewish Joles Hospital.

Jeanie was born in London, her parents were Jacob Gestetner (an immigrant from Hungary) and Gette Birnbaum (an immigrant from Germany. She married Alfred Salomonson in London in 1932. I have often wondered why Jeanie couldn't or didn't fall back on her family who were still living in England during WWII.
