John David Kaufman

The Nijmegen police commissioner requested that Elie Kaufman, his wife Cato Kaufman-Zilversmit and their children John David and Martijn, residing in Nijmegen, be located, detained and brought to trial. They were suspected of having changed their place of residence without the required authorization. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.

Elie Kaufman was een zoon van Abraham Kaufman en Johanna de Winter.  Hij trouwde met Cato Zilvermit op 12 juni 1919 te Hengelo (O). Cato was een dochter van David Zilversmit en Crisje Kanteman. Het echtpaar vestigde zich - na in Hengelo en Rotterdam te hebben gewoond -  met hun twee jongste zonen John David en Martijn op 5 september 1940 in Nijmegen. Hun oudste zoon Carl Albert bleef in Rotterdam …
