Fabian Schön arrived in the Netherlands as a German refugee on 5 February 1939. He stayed at various assembly points for Palestine Pioneers. From 17 January 1940 until 7 February 1942 he was a ward at the Paviljoen Loosdrechtse Rade youth aliyah home in Loosdrecht. Afterwards he went into hiding.
